MEET CLAIRE

My name is Claire Ladnier, M.S., E-RYT 500, Yoga Medicine™ Therapeutic Yoga Specialist, Relax and Renew™ Advanced Teacher, and RAD Mobility Movement Specialist 1&2. I am the only

Yoga Medicine Therapeutic Specialist in

Mississippi, Alabama and Louisiana. Yoga

Medicine is a training with a strong

emphasis on anatomy and physiology. YM

teachers are trained to work within a

variety of settings from providing health

care to working with athletic teams. My

specialty is working one-on-one and

developing individualized therapeutic

programs. This type of yoga is beneficial for most anyone new to yoga, experienced yogis, athletes or the curious individual who wants to learn more about how their body works.  It is also recommended if you are transitioning after an injury or have chronic tension and pain.

I have worked with a wide variety of

members of the community and athletes

addressing neck, shoulder, back, and hip pain, scoliosis, injury prevention, and

much more.

Because I have scoliosis, I believe this makes me work harder to make my group classes accessible and to find yoga poses that fit your body and needs. This isn't all pretzel yoga poses or one size fits all yoga classes. Touching your toes isn't required and I do not teach headstand.

I love to learn and believe I will be a forever student!

I am deeply fascinated by the study of Fascia, and the powerful effects of myofascial release.  I include this technique in all of my yoga classes and continue to study in person and online with Meredith Stephens, Tom Myers and other Anatomy Trains teachers.

Because I believe in the power of myofascial release, and love RAD myofascial products, I am certified as a RAD Mobility Movement Specialist 1&2.

My education continues with the 1000 hour Yoga Medicine Advanced Yoga Teacher Training Program with Tiffany Cruikshank. Please visit her website at

www.yogamedicine.com if you wish to learn more about my unique approach to yoga in the Pine Belt area.

I am also deeply influenced by Judith H. Lasater. She is a one of the forerunners of Restorative Yoga, a Physical Therapist, and one of the founders of Yoga Journal magazine. Please visit her website at

www.judithhansonlasater.com Relax and Renew Restorative Yoga is beneficial for anyone who has stress in their life.  It can also be helpful for anxiety, depression, fertility issues, and multiple health concerns. In times of stress we need to learn how to relax more effectively.

My influential teachers have included: Tiffany Cruikshank, Meredith Stephens, Judith Hanson Lasater, Tom Myers, Bryan Kest, and many others. My style is a combination of these experiences. I highly value my students who given me the opportunity to learn from them over the past thirteen years.

I have a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from USM and retired thirteen years ago after working for the Department of Mental Health for twenty five years. Lucky me to have found a second vocation that doesn't feel like a job and always gives me learning experiences.

Claire takes a personal approach to getting to know your needs and limitations. I've been attending for over a year and my balance, flexibility, and strength have improved. Her use of myofascial release has helped me release stress levels in my body.
